Ochi Chieko (Kawabe Chieco), the actress who played Osaka Naru in PGSM and one of the actresses playing Sailor Mercury in the Sailor Moon musicals, has been pregnant for more than four months. However, she is currently taking a vacation with her hubby to Hawaii after being okay’d by her doctor. My congratulations to the couple! Know more about her whereabouts after PGSM here.

Wow, Chieko is showing and everything! That’s so cool! ^__^ Hope she has a great vacation in Hawaii. Really hope she’d come back with an new single some day too. But best of health to her!
I’m afraid the prospect of her having new music releases isn’t big, tho, considering the various developments these years (also refer to that WikiMoon article linked in this blog entry). She’s just published a bento recipe book, tho: http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/4903620727?ie=UTF8&tag=tpaag-22&linkCode=as2&camp=247&creative=1211&creativeASIN=4903620727
But I do hope to hear her singing voice again! ^___^
Hi everyone. I’m so happy to see that the website is back-I’ve missed it so much! I’m surprised to see that Chieco is pregnant; I hope that she and her husband are happy and healthy. I hope that at some point that she will return to her music as she has such amazing talent.
Gotta say I’m amazed by the amount of young Japanese actresses getting married so early with kids. Is it a trend?
^ I don’t think so – while some do marry young, many others don’t, & even when they do, they usually don’t have kids so soon. In Chieko’s case, I think both have something to do w/ the age of her hubby. ; )
@ Flora – =D Thank you for coming back to visit the site! We’re happy to have you here.
@ Chibi & Rika-Chicchi – I think you’re right RC! Its a lot truer now that women are holding off marriage in Japan. Before, a lot were getting married straight out of high school. In 2008, I think numbers were showing that a lot more people in Japan are dying, than there are babies being born. So having babies is definitely being held back on.

Dunno if Chieko and her hubby had the baby planned. But DEFINITELY glad that it wasn’t one of those scenarios, where she got knocked up and had to have a rush wedding (-cough- Leah Dizon). ^.^;; I think that always presents an awkward situation in the press.
@Lisa: Haha, yeah, definitely not that case. XD And you’re also right about the shrinking population in Japan – that’s why they’ve speeded up absorbing immigrants, most notably from China, in the recent years to keep the country competitive. The Chinese over there fill every posts, from graveyard shift workers, sex workers (lol), etc. to entrepreneurs, scientists, etc. – even the Morning Musume has now got two Chinese members, & alan, the Tibetan Chinese singer & a former PLA lieutenant, is currently a hot Avex artist there.
Hey, a big SM fan here. Chieko is also the one who played Ami in Seramyu (Sailor Moon the Musicals). Will you also do the musical part?
@VenusAyaka: I actually don’t know much about the musicals ^^; – have only seen a few footage & read some Wiki info about it. Dunno whether Lisa knows more & can cover them here, tho.
How old is Cheiko’s husband?
@Jen: 40 something.
Sweet Jesus on a Cracker! D:
lol Is that really bad? At least she seems to be happy w/ it in her blog entries. If you wanna know more about him, & her life after marriage, read the WikiMoon article linked in this entry & click the relevant links in that article. ^^
